Position Description

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating and assessing children ages birth to 6 years of age, planning and implementing a therapeutic program to enhance their habilitation in an educational, or community setting.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence. Possession of a valid PA license as a speech and language pathologist thru the Department of State, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. Must be in compliance with ASHA standards of continuing education and ethics. CFY candidates may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum one year with pre-school or elementary age students.
  • Other: Requires a valid Driver’s License and must be at least 21 years of age.
Job Duties
  • Instructional: Maintain work schedule as assigned; attend all scheduled supervision sessions, trainings, and meetings as directed.
  • Student Support: Provide therapeutic support and appropriate interventions to children and implement and follow the child’s IEP.
  • Clerical: Maintain complete and concise documentation of all interventions by submitting reports timely and in the agency-approved format; complete daily session notes compliant with state billing practices.
  • Professional Development: Attend workshops, conferences and continued education offerings; collaborate with the Early Intervention Coordinator, Executive Director, and Family Support Services Manager; maintain confidentiality; perform duties professionally; promote inter/intra-working relationships and client-focused service; interact respectfully with diverse individuals; maintain flexibility across client assignments and schedules as dictated by treatment plans.
