Summary

The Home Care SLP supports MaineHealth Care at Home's (MHCAH) mission, vision, and values by exhibiting behaviors such as excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, commitment to the community, and accountability. In accordance with national standards and the policies of MHCAH and the Maine State Board of Licensure, the Home Care SLP provides reliable, evidence-based, patient-family-centered quality care through assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of care effects.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Master’s degree in Speech Pathology (Arts, Science, or Education) from an accredited program, with all requirements met for Clinical Fellowship Year. Successful completion of the ASHA certifying examination.
  2. License/Certifications: Maine licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Valid driver’s license and vehicle for work, covered by liability insurance. Current BLS certification for Healthcare providers.
  3. Experience: Preferably one year of full-time experience in a supervised healthcare setting.
  4. Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  5. Analytical skills to identify patient condition changes and initiate appropriate actions.
