Job summary

Children’s Friend is seeking a Speech & Language Pathologist to support infants and toddlers from birth through age three with developmental delays or conditions. You’ll provide family-centered services in natural environments and coordinate with families to promote communication and development.

Ideal candidates hold the highest degree in the discipline, have at least two years of experience with young children, and can collaborate with a diverse team while maintaining documentation and program

Responsibilities

  • Manage caseloads, scheduling, records, and documentation.

  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing supervision.
  • Maintain licensure and pursue ongoing professional development.

AtChildren’s Friend, our Early Intervention team partners with families to help infants and toddlers build the skills they need to grow, communicate, connect, and thrive. We’re looking for aSpeech & Language Pathologist who is passionate about supporting young children and empowering families to be active partners in their child’s development.

In this role, you’ll work with children from birth through age three who have developmental delays or diagnosed medical conditions that may impact development. You’ll meet families where they are—literally and figuratively—and provide individualized, family-centered support in the natural environments where children live, learn, and play.

What You’ll Do:

As a Speech & Language Pathologist, you will:

  • Partner with families to support children’s communication, development, and overall growth through teaching, coaching, modeling, and encouragement.
  • Provide services within everyday routines and activities, helping families incorporate developmental strategies naturally into their lives.
  • Develop and implement family-centered services based on each child and family’s goals outlined in their Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Manage an assigned caseload, including scheduling services, maintaining confidential records, and completing documentation accurately and on time.
  • Participate in intakes, evaluations, IFSP development and reviews, and other Early Intervention program processes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, outside providers, consultants, and community partners to ensure families receive coordinated services.
  • Support families through the transition process as their child prepares to leave Early Intervention.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, peer collaboration, and clinical supervision to continually strengthen your practice.
  • Maintain professional licensure and pursue ongoing professional development, including training focused on young children with disabilities and their families.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture and help advance the quality and success of the Early Intervention program.
