Job summary

Thom Child & Family Services is hiring an Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist to work with infants and toddlers birth to 3 in home and community settings in Norwood, MA. The clinician will deliver direct therapy, participate in IFSP development, and collaborate with families and a multidisciplinary team.

Required MA licensure as an SLP, ASHA CCC or CF eligibility, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts licensure in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • ASHA CCC or CF eligibility is acceptable for this role.
  • Experience with early intervention and family-centered care is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of developmental status.
  • Provide direct speech therapy for 0–3 aged children and families.
  • Develop IFSP goals, objectives, and strategies for child development.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, and assessments in a timely manner.
  • Deliver individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers with delays.
  • Act as service coordinator, scheduling and monitoring intervention plans.
  • Support families and facilitate parent–child interactions to promote development.

Salary Range: $62,000.00 to $75,000.00 annually. This position offers a salary range of $62,000 to $75,000. Actual pay will be based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Location: Norwood, MA

We are seeking an Early Intervention Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team working with the pediatric population (children birth to 3 years). The role involves providing home and community‑based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families.

Position Responsibilities
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client's developmental status.
  • Provide direct speech therapy services and activities developmentally appropriate for children 0-3 and their families.
  • Participate in the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) with responsibility for identifying goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child's development.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate.
  • Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognitive, adaptive behavior, social‑emotional, self‑care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.
  • Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
  • Act as a service coordinator for the family by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family on the caseload, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
  • Provide supportive professional assistance to families.
  • Facilitate parent‑child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.
Position Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or CF eligible.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
  • Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
