Job summary

Brooklyn Schools is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist to service Pre-K through 8th grade for the 2025-2026 school year. The candidate should hold CT certification for SLP and be able to participate in PPT meetings, create IEP goals, and develop aligned instructional plans.

The role includes collaboration with teachers and specialists, preparation of written reports, parental communication, and safeguarding student confidentiality. Supervision of SLPA staff is expected where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in an education discipline.
  • CT state certification for Speech and Language Pathologist.
  • Experience with IEPs, PPT meetings and student objectives.
  • Ability to supervise SLPA's and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Seeking Full Time or Part-Time Speech/Language Pathologist servicing students in Pre-K through 8th grade, for the 2025-2026 School Year.
Certification by CT State Department of Education for Speech and Language Pathologist
Job Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in PPT meetings and create IEP goals and objectives.
  • Develop instructional/therapeutic lessons that are aligned with the student's IEP objectives.
  • Provide written reports including diagnostic data and communicate recommendations for educational interventions, curriculum, management and teaching strategies for students.
  • Provides consultative services to teachers and related school personnel regarding the students' speech and language performance.
  • Provides information, support, and progress to parents when appropriate.
  • Maintains confidentiality with respect to students and their records.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
  • Ability to supervise SLPA's
Additional Duties
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Education
  • Masters from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
