Eastern Iowa Community College District seeks two part-time adjuncts to teach college-level Speech courses in Davenport, IA. Classes run in-person on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from Jan 19, 2027 to May 14, 2027. Pay is $800 per course hour, with $1,000 per hour for EICC retirees.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. The role requires a Master's in Speech or Communications (or related field with required credits) and a strong commitment to teaching

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech or Communications or master's degree with at least 12 GSH in a combination of the qualifying fields that provide a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught (Drama/Theater, English, Homiletics, Linguistics, Mass Media, Speech Pathology, and/or Rhetoric) is required.
• A minimum of 6 credits must be from Speech or Communications.

Responsibilities

• Teaches college-level courses in speech and assesses learning outcomes.
• Demonstrates excellence in teaching and service and commits to the mission and values of the community college.
• Establishes clear syllabus for each class and posts in the learning management system.
• Evaluates and records student performance and provides feedback.
• Maintains appropriate office hours and collaborates with support services to assist student success.

Education

Master's degree in Speech or Communications (or Master's with 12 GSH across qualifying fields; at least 6 credits from Speech/Communications)
