Eastern Iowa Community Colleges in Davenport is seeking two part-time adjuncts to teach college-level speech courses at Davenport High Schools, in-person on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from Jan 19, 2027 to May 14, 2027. Applicants must hold a Master’s in Speech or Communications and be ready to assess learning outcomes with excellence in teaching and service.

Retirees may earn $1,000 per course hour. Salary is $800 per course hour for regular adjuncts, with credentials and classroom

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech or Communications or a related field is required.
• Ability to teach college-level Speech courses and assess learning outcomes.
• Professional teaching excellence and service aligned with the college mission.

Responsibilities

• Teaches courses in accordance with established outcomes and uses appropriate instructional delivery methods.
• Participates in curriculum design and revision to maintain currency.
• Maintains a clear syllabus and posts it in the LMS.
• Communicates course objectives, policies, and assessment methods to students.
• Evaluates and records student performance in the LMS and provides feedback.
• Maintains office hours and supports student success with advising resources.
