Job summary

Marlborough Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Moderate or Severe Needs) for the 2025-26 school year in Marlborough, MA. Salary is aligned with the Teachers’ Salary Scale based on education and experience.

The teacher will provide high-quality instruction, analyze data, collaborate with families and teams, and ensure compliance with IEPs. Strong collaboration, cultural proficiency, and reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts licensure from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Special Education Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities or Moderate Disabilities – All Levels.
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution, preferred.
• Experience working with students within inclusion, small group and individual settings.
• Experience educating students with severe disabilities in various settings.
• Bilingual (Spanish and/or Portuguese) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect instructional support to students per IEPs and behavior plans.
• Differentiates instruction to meet diverse developmental levels and learning styles.
• Participates in Team meetings and develops IEPs with measurable goals.
• Monitors progress with data and adjusts interventions accordingly.
• Collaborates with general education teachers to modify curriculum for students with disabilities.
• Administers and interprets standardized assessments and uses results for planning.
• Maintains accurate student records and reports as required.
