Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure in Special Education in Moderate Needs (K-5) preferred.
• Experience in a Therapeutic Learning environment preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with inclusion, small group and individual settings.
• SEI endorsement preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish and/or Portuguese) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect instructional support to students as per their IEPs.
• Delivers differentiated learning experiences to support progress toward IEP goals.
• Participates in Team meetings.
• Develops and implements IEPs with measurable goals.
• Ensures compliance with IEP timelines and maintains student records.
• Delivers instruction with measurable outcomes and higher-order thinking.
• Collaborates with general education teachers to modify curriculum per IEP.
• Organizes and analyzes assessment results to guide interventions and differentiate instruction.
• Collaborates with parents, outside agencies and building staff.
• Provides descriptive feedback to students and families for improvement.
• Sets high expectations for student work and perseverance.
• Develops interpersonal, group, and communication skills in students.
• Addresses conflicts arising from diverse backgrounds and identities.
• Seeks feedback from supervisors and colleagues to improve practice.
• Collaborates with colleagues on standards-based units and interventions.
