Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a dedicated SPED teacher (NT) for the Augusta YDC location. The role involves developing lesson plans, delivering instruction to students with disabilities, and coordinating with staff to implement IEPs in a secure setting.

The position emphasizes differentiated, multi-sensory teaching methods, ongoing progress monitoring, and collaboration with families and professionals to promote academic and social progress.

Qualifications

• Completion of an undergraduate degree and eligibility for Georgia Clear and Renewable Teacher Certificate as required by statute.
• Provisional Georgia Educator’s Certificate with eligibility to obtain Georgia Clear and Renewable Teacher Certificate as required by statute.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and present lessons in subject areas to students with disabilities.
• Provide direct and indirect instructional support in a positive environment.
• Use multi-sensory strategies and differentiation to meet students’ needs and IEP goals.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with parents and professionals to develop IEPs and monitor outcomes.
