Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in special education and/or pursuing SPED certification in a content area is desirable.
• Certification/Licensure: Meets Georgia state certification requirements; Preschool Endorsement preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of learning theory, differentiated instruction, developmental reading, and behavior management.
• Work Experience: Student teaching or two years in the area of exceptionality preferable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect services to students with disabilities and collaborate with general education teachers.
• Assist with evaluation and IEP processes under the direction of supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare reports and eligibility documents as requested.
• Collaborate with families and outside providers to support an integrated educational program.
• Develop curriculum and select instructional materials for preschool special education.
