Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a SPED Transportation driver to safely transport students daily, with emphasis on safety and reliability. You will work with SPED personnel, assist students with seating and equipment, and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.

The role requires at least a HS diploma or GED, 1 year driving a non-CDL passenger vehicle, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Benefits include family leave, tuition reimbursement, and mental health support.

Qualifications

• Assist SPED Monitor and students with equipment (wheelchairs, car seats, restraints).
• Participate in ARD and IEP meetings with SPED personnel and Principals.
• Conduct pre/post trip vehicle inspections and report issues.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students in SPED vehicle according to schedules.
• Follow established safety rules and inspect vehicle daily.
• Report delays and maintain DOT/IDEA credentials.
• Communicate availability to SPED Transportation Manager or campus leaders.
