Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university or institution.
Foundations of special education course or willingness to take it.
Pursue provisional Special Education License in Virginia.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
Assess student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting purposes.
Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
Manage student behaviors to keep a conducive learning environment.
Coordinate instructional activities with other professionals to maximize student learning.
Provide development, management, and support for IEPs, BSPs, etc.
Communicate expectations and progress to students and parents.
