DeKalb County School District’s Tucker Middle School is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support students with special education needs and promote high academic expectations under the supervision of a certified teacher.

The role includes small-group and one-on-one instruction, health-related care, classroom management, progress monitoring, data collection, and implementing IEP accommodations. A Georgia PSC paraprofessional certificate and required education credentials are needed.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, required.
• An associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved accredited college or university is required.
• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from a PSC-approved college or university.
• A valid PSC-approved paraprofessional certificate is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provides direct instructional support to students under the supervision of a certified special education teacher.
• Provides small groups and/or individualized instruction to students, in accordance with lesson plans.
• Assists teachers with daily classroom management activities and with assessment and recordkeeping tasks.
• Implements accommodations and modifications as outlined in students' IEPs and reinforces academic content in various settings.
• Maintains confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA and district policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
