Job summary

DeKalb County School District's Peachtree Middle School is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support students with educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs in the classroom and community. Qualifications

Must pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC approved college or university.
60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia PSC approved college or university.
Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

Assist students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
Assist students with health care procedures including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
Provide small groups and/or individualized instruction as per lesson plans.
Monitor students before/after school and during non-instructional periods.
Assist teachers with classroom management to foster a conducive learning environment.
Assist with assessment of student performance and other recordkeeping tasks.
Develop and organize instructional materials for use with students and ensure availability prior to instruction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
