Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support teachers in delivering instructional and behavioral supports for students. The role emphasizes collaboration with the team to promote high academic expectations and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include small group/instructional delivery, classroom management, and assisting with assessments and materials. Education requirements include 60+ college hours or a diploma with GACE Paraprofessional and PSC

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college coursework with GPA 2.0+ from an accredited college or university.
• High school diploma or GED with passing GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students according to teacher plans.
• Assists teachers with daily classroom management to promote an effective learning environment.
• Assists teachers with assessment of student performance (standardized and non-standardized tests) and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Assists teachers with development and organization of instructional materials and ensures materials are available prior to instructional segments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
