Responsibilities

Adapt instructional materials under the direction of the teacher.
Work one-on-one and/or in small groups as directed by the teacher.
Collect data regarding student progress.
Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
Help teacher keep administrative records and required reports.
Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
Help manage the behavior of assigned students.
Intervene in crisis situations and restrain disruptive or dangerous behavior as needed.
Assist students with disabilities according to individual needs for instruction.
Develop motor skills with individual students or small groups.
Supervise students throughout the day in various settings.
