Job summary

Waller Independent School District in Cypress, TX is seeking a Paraprofessional-Specialized Services to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a special education teacher. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and prefers Texas Education Aide Certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas Education Aide Certification preferred.
• Ability to work well with children with disabilities.
• Bilingual (preferred).
• Two years experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the individual needs of students, including transfers to/from wheelchairs and assisting with personal care.
• Help students take care of physical needs and personal hygiene tasks.
• Help manage the behavior of assigned students and assist in crisis situations as needed.
• Adapt instructional materials and work with teacher to implement instructional plans.
• Supervise students in class, cafeteria, hallway, bus stop, and field trips; support substitute teachers.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist with administrative records and reports.
