Job summary

Kent School District in Washington is hiring paraeducators to support classroom instruction under the KAP calendar. The position provides about 6.5 hours per day across a 190-day school year with hourly pay between $30.89 and $37.99, and placement on the salary schedule based on experience.

Qualified applicants may hold an AA degree or 72 college credits or ParaPro score of 455+, and there is a path to hire after meeting state requirements. Training will be provided after hiring.

Paraeducator Requirements

Prior to starring, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the following means:

• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.
  • If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate you will have the opporutnity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.

Post Hire Requirements:

Upon hire, paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through our KSD Professional Development Team.
