Job summary

Kent School District in Washington state is seeking a paraeducator to support classroom instruction under the district’s 190-day calendar. The role is 6.5 hours per day with an hourly salary between $30.89 and $37.99, aligned to the KAP Salary Schedule.

Salary is annualized and distributed through August. Minimum qualifications include an AA degree or 72 college credits, or a passing ParaPro assessment (455+), with proof of high school completion or equivalent.

Paraeducator Requirements

Prior to starring, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the following means:

• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.

• If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate you will have the opporutnity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.

Post Hire Requirements

Upon hire, paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through our KSD Professional Development Team.
