Job summary

The Kent School District is seeking paraeducators to join our team under the 190-day KAP calendar. This continuing position averages about 6.5 hours per day and offers an hourly salary between $30.89 and $37.99.

Candidates must meet Washington state requirements for paraeducators (AA degree or 72 college credits or a ParaPro score of 455+ and a high school diploma or equivalent). After hire, state-required training is provided; salary is annualized and paid through August.

Paraeducator Requirements

Prior to starting, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the following means:

• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.

If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate you will have the opporutnity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.

Post Hire Requirements

Upon hire, paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through our KSD Professional Development Team.
