REAL Journey Academies is seeking an Inclusion Assistant to support students with disabilities and collaborate with teachers to ensure student success. The role includes assisting with tests, homework, and IEP-related tasks, and promoting positive replacement behaviors in the learning environment.

• Associates degree or 1-2 years of related experience.

Responsabilités

• Assist with tests, homework, program reviews, reports, and student files as directed.
• Support student skill development and replacement behaviors.
• Participate in IEP meetings and prepare presentations as directed.
• Maintain required documentation for students and families.
• Monitor daily progress and chart weekly behavior.
• Build relationships with students and parents.
• Collaborate with staff on behavioral support.
• Provide mobility assistance as needed.

REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Inland Empire .We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of education and other supportive partnerships.Job Purpose:The ideal inclusion assistant wholeheartedly believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of REAL Journey Schools and exhibits this through their development, reflection, implementation of school culture and collaboration to ensure student success. The Special Education Para assists the classroom teacher and school service providers by providing support to an individual student or group with disabilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide assistance with: tests, homework, program reviews, reports, student files, schedules, and any other instructional program assignments as directed by the supervising teacher and in accordance with IEPPromotes student skill acquisition by teaching age-appropriate and functional replacement behaviors to students.Use a combination of approaches to address a student’s target behaviors in order to form and strengthen replacement behaviors.Provide a systematic process of studying and modifying observable behavior through a manipulation of the environment.The focus of this teaching method is to teach the child specific skills he/she needs to be successful with the goal that the child will learn and independently initiate acquired skills.Participates in individual student IEP meetings and prepares and presents appropriately as directed by the administrator.Completes and maintains required documentation for the school, students, and families.Monitor and support Behavior Intervention PlansProgress reporting on a daily basis and weekly behavior charting.Provide individual, small group servicesBuild strong relationships with students and parentsEstablish an environment where students are excited about learning and preparing for the future.Collaborates with school staff in behavioral supportRegular attendance, dependability and punctuality in conformance with the standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.Assists student (including physical assistance as needed) with fine motor tasks and mobility if neededOther responsibilities as assignedDesired Skills and Traits:Desire to continuously build professional knowledgeDemonstrate support and knowledge of school's goals and missionPossession of patience, flexibility and the ability to work well as a collaborative team memberPrior experience working with children in an educational or other structured settingRequired Skills/Abilities:Experience with computers and software applications.Proficiency with or the ability to learn current software and equipment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Minimum Requirements:Associates degree or minimum 1-2 years of experience in related fieldPhysical demands:Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsOccasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping and reaching for extended periods of timePhysical ability to bend over, squat, stand and sit for periods of time, and move with some speedOccasional computer work including but not limited to typingCompensation & Benefits:This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated educator to assume a fundamental role in an innovative school environment.REAL Journey Academies offers its employees a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
