Qualifications

Job Details: Job Location: Entrepreneur High School - Fontana - Fontana, CA 92553, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $61,000.00 - $89,000.00 Salary/year, REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a non-profit charter school. Job Purpose:

RJA is seeking a passionate CTE Teacher who is committed to shepherding their students to the next level of academic excellence and shows this through their development, reflection, execution of school culture, implementation of student rigor and proven results of student success. The individual’s personal and professional values are aligned with the mission and commitments of RJA and will be culturally responsive in creating equitable learning pathways for all students. The students learn through a project-based curriculum to launch their own companies while still in school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach skills and knowledge of Education to secondary students utilizing the course of study and appropriate learning activities adopted by the School Site.
Provide instruction on education with emphasis on (but not limited to) educational psychology, education methods, business of education, and introduction to teaching
Provide instruction and be well versed in artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies or willing to learn AI and educational technologies
Prepare, instruct and supervise students with the appropriate teaching and supervision of tutors and peer teachers
Develop effective lesson plans that follow state approved Career Technical Education standards and development demonstrate Education skills and concepts using frequent hands-on activities, models, teacher-prepared instructional aids, supplies, technology, and lab experiences on and off campus.
Provide instruction on primary education methods, secondary education methods, educational psychology, and educational philosophy.
Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
Adapt Education materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students.
Guide students in making Education career-related decisions and provide students with instruction on general employment skills including (but not limited to) communication skills, job retention skills and resume writing.

Additionally, experience in the following areas is helpful:

Experience teaching in an urban public school or charter school setting
At least two years of experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom preferred

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or higher
Minimum of three (3) years or more of related work experience in the Education industry within the last five (5) years.
Possess or eligible to obtain a valid California teaching credential in
Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential in Manufacturing and Product Development

Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience with computers and software applications.
Proficiency with or the ability to learn current software and equipment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical demands:

Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise objects
Occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping and reaching for extended periods of time
Occasional computer work, including but not limited to typing
