REAL Journey Academies seeks a passionate CTE Teacher to elevate student achievement through project-based learning, AI integration, and hands-on education focused on manufacturing and product development.

You will deliver instruction in educational psychology, methods, and the business of education, while guiding students in career exploration and essential employment skills, in a supportive urban public charter school setting.

• Valid California CTE credential in Manufacturing and Product Development
• Experience in education, preferably in urban public or charter schools

The students learn through a project-based curriculum to launch their own companies while still in school.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Teach skills and knowledge of Education to secondary students utilizing the course of study and appropriate learning activities adopted by the School Site.Provide instruction on education with emphasis on (but not limited to) educational psychology, education methods, business of education, and introduction to teachingProvide instruction and be well versed in artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies or willing to learn AI and educational technologiesPrepare, instruct and supervise students with the appropriate teaching and supervision of tutors and peer teachersDevelop effective lesson plans that follow state approved Career Technical Education standards and development demonstrate Education skills and concepts using frequent hands-on activities, models, teacher-prepared instructional aids, supplies, technology, and lab experiences on and off campus.Provide instruction on primary education methods, secondary education methods, educational psychology, and educational philosophy.Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.Adapt Education materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students.Guide students in making Education career-related decisions and provide students with instruction on general employment skills including (but not limited to) communication skills, job retention skills and resume writing.Desired Skills and Traits:Passion for working with traditionally underserved communities in high performance settingsStrong instructional and classroom management skillsExcellent, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenSteady work ethic and a high level of patience to overcome difficult challengesMaintain a high standard of honesty and integrity and present oneself with poiseAdditionally, experience in the following areas is helpful:Experience teaching in an urban public school or charter school settingAt least two years of experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom preferredMinimum Requirements:High School Diploma or higherMinimum of three (3) years or more of related work experience in the Education industry within the last five (5) years.Possess or eligible to obtain a valid California teaching credential inCareer Technical Education (CTE) Credential in Manufacturing and Product DevelopmentRequired Skills/Abilities:Experience with computers and software applications.Proficiency with or the ability to learn current software and equipment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Physical demands:Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise objectsOccasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping and reaching for extended periods of timeOccasional computer work, including but not limited to typingCompensation & Benefits:This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated individual to assume a fundamental role in an innovative school environment.REAL Journey Academies offers its employees a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
