Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers in Walpole, MA seeks a Licensed SPED Teacher (Mathematics) for Clifford Academy, a Chapter 766 school offering year-round education with individualized therapy. You will implement IEPs, support behavior management, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to advance student goals.

Candidates should have a Mathematics background and MA licensure; a Master’s in Education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and knowledge in Mathematics required.
• Master's Degree in Education or a related field preferred.
• Massachusetts Educator Licensure required.
• Special Education license desired.
• Previous experience working in education and/or with program specific population highly desirable.
• Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing individualized educational programs for assigned students including curriculum and lesson plans.
• Provide individualized academic instruction to students of wide-ranging academic performance.
• Implement behavioral management program and crisis intervention.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary student teams and communicate progress.
• Maintain liaison with collateral staff and advocate for students.
• Ensure a safe, orderly classroom environment.
• Provide monitoring and coverage as needed (lunch, recess, halls, field trips).
• Participate in committees as appropriate.
• Involve families in the educational program and family activities.
