Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers' Walpole program seeks a Licensed SPED Teacher (Science focused) for Clifford Academy, a MA Chapter 766 special education school. Clifford Academy offers a year‑round, engaging program that emphasizes education, career development, recreation/fitness, and individualized therapeutic approaches.

Under the principal's direction, you will implement individualized education plans, support behavioral management, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, and document

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science and knowledge in science required.
• Massachusetts Educator Licensure required.
• Master's Degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Special Education license desired.
• Experience in education and/or program population highly desirable.
• Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing individualized educational programs for assigned students including curriculum and specific lesson plans.
• Implement behavioral management program within the classroom and participate in crisis intervention as needed.
• Participate as a member of multi-disciplinary teams and communicate student progress to the team.
• Maintain a safe, orderly and neat classroom environment.
• Provide monitoring and coverage as needed in the program, including field trips and lunch/recess supervision.
• May serve on department, facility, or agency committees as appropriate.
• Communicate with and involve families in the educational program of each student.
