Dallas Independent School District seeks an Anticipated SPED Intensive Support Teacher Assistant (EC-5) for Gooch Elementary, Dallas. You will assist the teacher with instructional materials, student supervision, and paraprofessional duties in a campus setting.

You will support students with disabilities, help with personal care and mobility, and maintain records. Regular attendance and teamwork with staff are required.

Qualificações

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency) and one of: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, or a passing academic assessment.
• Paraprofessional certificate from State Board of Certification.
• Completion of a training program for teacher assistants or six months of related work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics.
• Ability to work with diverse ethnic groups.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to meet job goals.
• Initiative and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills—oral and written.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Flexibility to cope with changing environments.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat, orderly classroom and prepare the space per student needs.
• Assist with inventory and care of equipment.
• Maintain required administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitutes.
• Assist students with physical disabilities, including transfers and mobility.
• Support personal care needs and classroom activities.
• Assist with classroom curriculum and instructional exercises.
• Support behavior management and safety in crisis situations as needed.
• Monitor student learning and communicate needs to the teacher.
• Supervise students during school hours, lunch, bus, and playground.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff development and meetings.
