Job summary

USD #404 Riverton Elementary is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator to assist in supervising and instructing students with special needs in regular education or resource settings, under the direct supervision of the Special Education Teacher.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, aiding students in various settings, and participating in trainings to meet state requirements. This is a non-exempt, at-will position with an hourly wage based on the 9-month school calendar.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; 48 college hours or Master Teacher Online Exam score; 20 hours per year in-service training.
• Safety practices and basic office equipment use required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and instructing students with special needs under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher.
• Adapt classroom activities and materials to meet IEP goals and student needs.
• Aid students in and out of classrooms and support social and behavioral skills development.
• Participate in trainings to meet state and district requirements.
• Collaborate with staff to support student progress and confidentiality.
