Job summary

Mesa Public Schools, located in Mesa, AZ, is seeking an Instructional Assistant Special Education I—Self Contained to support teachers and/directly assist students under IEPs. The role involves monitoring and instruction in a self-contained setting, with emphasis on academic, social, and health-related tasks.

The candidate will reinforce classroom objectives, develop instructional materials, and participate in data collection.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire, or pass the district ParaPro test.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and instruction of special education students under licensed teachers.
• Assist with routine clerical tasks and data collection on goals and progress.
• Support students with daily living activities as needed and ensure a safe classroom environment.
