Job summary

Washington County TN School District seeks a SPED Instructional Assistant II to support students with IEPs in kindergarten through fifth grade at Grandview Elementary School. Under licensed teacher supervision, the SPED IA II provides classroom assistance, intervention delivery, data collection, and behavioral support.

Education options include two years of college credit, an associate degree, or a passing Para-Pro score, plus First Aid/CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credit (48 semester hours) from an accredited university, excluding remedial courses; an Associate's Degree from an accredited university; or a passing score on the Para-Pro exam.
• Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification and De-escalation and Restraint certification

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under the supervision of the teacher.
• Assists in instructing students and supporting IEP objectives.
• Maintains safety and health procedures as directed, including emergency responses.
• Performs record-keeping tasks and data collection to monitor student progress.
• Collaborates with teachers, parents, and staff to support student needs.
