Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support teachers and deliver high-quality educational activities. This temporary vacancy covers a leave and is anticipated to end by early October 2026.

The paraprofessional will assist in instruction, prepare materials, manage behavior, supervise field trips, and contribute to a supportive classroom environment under the supervision of the Principal/Head of School.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 48 college credits (or an Associate's degree) or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by your first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
