Job summary

FullBloom in Darien, IL is seeking an IEP Specialist to coordinate and evaluate educational programs and to mentor classroom staff. This role collaborates with the Director, families, and school teams to drive ISBE-compliant outcomes and ensure effective support for students.

The IEP Specialist will assist with recruitment and onboarding, manage IEP databases, and lead staff and parent education sessions while coordinating with multiple departments to implement transition services and program

Qualifications

• Current SPED teaching license required.
• Experience with school populations preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to record and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with classroom staff to coordinate and manage needs and determine student assignment in regards to special education programs.
• Assist Principal with recruiting, interviewing and on-boarding new campus staff members.
• Develop and implement transition planning and services/Indicator 13.
• Maintain IEP database and student file scan database.
• Prepare and attend students’ IEP meetings, ensure documentation is completed prior to the meeting and monitor ISBE compliance of students’ IEPs.
• Plan and implement staff and parent education relating to special education programs.
• Maintain close working relationship with school district, parents and community.
• Provide and monitor crisis intervention at the school.
• Organize, plan and deliver training for professional development and staff meetings.
• Actively participate in Education Committee meetings and relay information to the resource team.
