Job summary
Lawrence Unified School District in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Teacher for Interrelated Resource Elementary to provide an effective program of instruction tailored to students with disabilities. Positions may be filled on a full-time or part-time basis.
Requires a Kansas Teaching Certificate/License with SPED endorsement and “Highly qualified” status according to KSDE and federal regulations. The district offers a $1,800 SPED stipend and tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per year.
Qualifications

- “Highly qualified” status per KSDE and federal regulations.
- Alternatives to qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Builds instruction on previously learned materials.
- Uses varied teaching materials and techniques for the content area.
- Assess student/adult needs and progress regularly.
- Provide re-teaching, adaptation, and extensions when needed.
- Demonstrate evidence of individual student/adult learning.
- Prepare for assigned classes with evidence of preparation.
- Demonstrate command of subject matter and district curriculum.
