Job summary

International Leadership of Texas seeks a dedicated instructional aide to support students with disabilities in and out of the classroom. Under supervision, you will help with self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs, assisting with materials and records.

You will support transfers, motor skill activities, supervision during meals and transit, and participate in professional development while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with disabilities
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Two years of experience with children

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers
• Meet individual student needs including transfers to/from wheelchairs; lifting and positioning
• Help manage behavior and adapt interactions to student needs
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and play, and communicate issues to teacher
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in professional development
