Job summary

Medford School District 549C is seeking a SPED Assistant II MAPS for a 7-hour/day position to support students in a self-contained special education setting. The role involves helping implement instructional programs, behavior support, and daily activities under the supervision of the principal and certified staff.

The Educational Assistant will assist with classroom operations, manage student records, and participate in IEP-related tasks while adhering to confidentiality and district policies.

Qualifications

• Must meet current highly qualified requirements.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing fluently in English; Spanish language skills may be preferred.
• General computer skills including email, internet, and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in instructional setting.
• Maintain classroom discipline using CPI techniques as needed.
• Organize and manage student work under teacher direction.
• Assist with correcting and recording student work and with testing.
• Supervise class for short periods.
• Assist students with daily work and computer-based activities.
• Adapt methods for students with varying needs as directed by teachers.
