Job summary

The Aide – SPED Essential Elements supports instruction for students with severe disabilities by assisting classroom teachers, implementing IEPs, and monitoring student health and behavior under supervision.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, assisting with daily living tasks, ensuring safety, recording progress, attending meetings, and supporting goals outlined in IEPs; requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Part-time, ~20 hours/week, non-exempt.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Job-related experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Adapt activities and materials under supervision to reinforce objectives.
• Assist students with severe disabilities in completing instructional tasks.
• Provide health-related assistance and personal care as directed.
• Monitor student safety and behavior in classroom activities.
• Support IEP goals and instructional plans.
• Maintain instructional materials and records for program documentation.
• Observe and document student progress and communicate with staff.
• Attend meetings and training related to special education services.
• Participate in IEP meetings to support goal implementation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
