Job summary

Katy ISD is seeking a SPED - Adaptive Behavior teacher at BOUDNY Elementary in Katy, Texas. Immediate starting date.

You will work with the principal, campus staff, district special education personnel, and parents to implement ARD/IEP processes and behavior plans for eligible students. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a valid Texas certificate, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and apply positive behavior supports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area.
Meets requirements of Highly Qualified.

Responsibilities

Provides special education consultation and instruction to meet the academic and behavioral needs of eligible students with disabilities.
Communicate with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians about student needs (ARD paperwork, IEPs, FBA, BIP, data collection).
Prepare documents and attend ARD/IEP meetings for students eligible for special education.
Complete local, state and federal paperwork required for program participation.
Collaborate with teachers and related service staff to develop PLAAFPs and annual goals for IEPs.
Administer state and district testing as appropriate.
Maintain confidential student records and audit folders.
Provide personal care as identified in IEPs.
