Job summary

Labcorp in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team. Schedule: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri 9:00am-2:00pm and Tue 9:00am-7:00pm. Prepare specimens, label, pack, and ship for testing in a fast-paced laboratory.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 1+ year in lab/production. Preferred 2+ years in lab/production. Must pass color vision test and lift up to 40 lbs, with strong data entry and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ year lab/production experience.
• Ability to handle biological specimens and work in a high-throughput lab.
• Strong data entry and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
