Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our Elizabeth, NJ team. The role focuses on preparing laboratory specimens, accurate labeling, routing to staging areas and data entry in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience, with opportunities to develop in a leading diagnostics organization. Schedule includes multiple shifts and part-time options may apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Resolve and document any problem specimens.

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in Elizabeth, NJ.

Work Schedule:

• Monday , Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 9:00am-2:00pm and Tuesday 9:00am-7:00pm

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)
• 2 years or more of medical or production experience

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

Pay Range:

• $17.75- $22.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Benefits:

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
