Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–6 months in a clinical laboratory or medical setting preferred.
• 3–6 months experience in a service environment (call center, distribution) preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all age groups and populations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate service orientation by being courteous, respectful, and proactive in assisting with department tasks.
• Monitor pneumatic tube and courier deliveries to ensure timely processing of specimens.
• Investigate and resolve specimen issues and enter into the LIS as needed.
• Verify specimens against requisitions and labels, and prepare/send specimens to outside locations as needed.
• Receive, sort, and prioritize all specimens per laboratory policy; notify supervisor of issues.
• Disinfect work area and assist with orientation/training of new staff.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three to six months of lab or medical environment experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with all customers and staff.
