Job summary

Florida Woman Care Laboratory is seeking a Specimen Processor - Accessioning to support cytology, histology, molecular, clinical, and microbiology specimens. You will handle specimen receipt, labeling, data entry, and basic clerical duties.

Hours are Sunday–Thursday 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. A high school diploma and data-entry skills are required; medical terminology knowledge and 2 years’ lab experience are preferred. This role contributes to accurate testing workflows and lab safety.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; strong data entry skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
• 2 years’ experience as a lab assistant, specimen processor, or relevant experience in a lab is preferred

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens consistent with testing requirements.
• Identify and label specimens and distribute to testing areas
• Perform clerical and administrative duties
• Organize and monitor lab supplies for inventory levels
• Communicate specimen non-conformities to staff and leadership
• Clean and maintain work area and lab equipment
• Follow health and safety regulations when handling specimens
• Comply with chemical hygiene and lab safety procedures
• Comply with all lab procedures and methodologies
• Assist technical staff and leadership with duties as needed
