Job summary

Labcorp in Tucker, GA is seeking a Specimen Processing Supervisor to oversee the non-technical staff in the Accessioning department and assist with specimen preparation for analysis. You will supervise, train, and mentor team members, monitor daily workflow, and ensure proper staffing across shifts.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years in a clinical laboratory, and 3 years in people leadership and supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department.

• Monitor daily workflow and ensure adequate shift coverage.
• Ensure shifts are properly staffed and compliant with policies.
• Research and resolve production errors; escalate when needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Supervisor to join our team in Tucker, GA.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, additional days and hours may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the non-technical staff for the Accessioning department
• Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures

Minimum Qualification

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 3 years or more experience in a clinical laboratory
• 3 years or more in people leader experience
• 3 years or more supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates
• 5 years or more of supervisory experience
• 5 years or more of distribution experience

Additional Job Standards

• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
