Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform specimen processing, blood collection, and data entry to support patient care. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and courteous patient service.

Training on day shift for four to six weeks, then evening shift from 2pm to 10:30pm, with every third weekend and rotating holidays. 40 hours per week; non-exempt position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous exposure in a scientific/laboratory setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and blood collection following established SOPs.
• Operates laboratory equipment and maintains accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
• Logs and stores specimens and prepares samples for testing or submission to reference labs.
• Maintains safe, courteous patient interactions and ensures compliance with procedures.
• Assists with data entry and clerical tasks to support laboratory operations.
