Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in a scientific or laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and blood collections following lab guidelines to obtain acceptable specimens for diagnostics and therapy.
• Follows SOPs to process all specimen types and produce accurate results.
• Operates laboratory equipment (centrifuges, timers, computer systems, tube transport) per SOPs.
• Restocks supplies to assist coworkers and maintain workflow.
• Logs in and stores specimens for laboratories not currently connected to the LIS.
• Prepares specimens and requisitions for transfer to reference laboratories.
• Collects blood and urine specimens from patients across outpatient clinics and walk-ins with proper identification and labeling.
• Ensures patient specimens are correctly identified and labeled before testing.
• Communicates effectively with laboratory sections, nursing staff, and patients to support timely results.
