Job summary

University of Washington in Renton, WA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 for the Specimen Processing Services Team at the Renton Central Laboratory. You will contribute to the diagnostic process by processing specimens, preparing reagents, and operating essential laboratory equipment to support timely patient care.

The position offers a permanent night shift with 100% FTE, Monday–Friday with rotating holidays, and opportunities to train and mentor new staff while ensuring

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience.
• Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society for Clinical Pathology
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prioritize specimens and requests; match specimens to requisitions.
• Prepare reagents, chemical solutions, culture media, or cell cultures per procedures.
• Operate laboratory equipment (balances, microscopes, spectrophotometers, pH meters, autoclaves, centrifuges).
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens as ordered.
• Assist in orientation, training and support of new employees.
