Job summary

UW Medicine in Renton, WA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 for the Specimen Processing Services Team at the Renton Central Laboratory. You will process and prepare specimens, support accurate patient diagnoses, and provide courteous service to clinical staff and patients.

The position is 100% FTE with an evening shift, Monday–Friday and rotating holidays, plus comprehensive benefits including paid holidays, transit options, and healthcare coverage.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent
• One year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience
• Laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society for Clinical Pathology

Responsibilities

• Sort and prioritize specimens and requests; match specimens to requisitions
• Prepare reagents, solutions, media or cultures
• Operate lab equipment and maintain accurate records
• Assist in orientation and training of new employees
• Respond to inquiries and resolve specimen or order issues
