Job summary

Caris Life Sciences is seeking a Specimen Processing Clerk I to support accessioning clinical cases and ensuring accurate documentation in the laboratory information system. The role involves handling specimens, QA/QC, inventory, and cross-department collaboration while learning CLIA, CAP, and NYS regulations under supervision.

You will maintain labeling accuracy, prepare records, assist with supply orders, and perform related duties to support lab operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Comfortable with evening shift Tue-Fri 2:00pm-12:30am.
• Experience in general laboratory operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open packages and video receipt of all incoming specimens for clinical processing.
• Create and manage patient cases including setup, updates, and QC checks.
• Open/close discrepancies to ensure timely, accurate processing.
• Collaborate with Customer Support, Molecular, Compliance and other departments.
• Maintain filing, tracking, and accurate record keeping.
• Ensure correct labeling and diagnostic viability of specimens.
• Record data in the laboratory information system and logs.
• Support QA/QC for all cases, specimens, and documentation.
• Maintain supply inventory and process purchasing requests.
