Qualifications

Data entry and computer skills required.
Medical terminology and understanding of billing issues preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs data entry and labeling of laboratory samples accurately and timely.
Prepares laboratory samples accurately and timely for laboratory testing.
May operate imaging system and retrieve requisitions, or maintain the filing system for requisitions.
Maintains knowledge of HIS and LIS systems and related operating systems.
May perform limited training as requested.
Communicates with floors and physicians regarding tests, results, and labeling issues.
May transport specimens to other departments or reference labs as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
