Job summary

Valley Medical Center in Minnesota is seeking a Specimen Collector to perform patient-focused collection and related lab duties in a clinical or client-site setting.

You will verify patient identity, document demographics, label and transport specimens, and support workflow with a collaborative team. Requires reliable vehicle, valid license, and HS diploma; typical schedule Mon-Fri 8:30-5 with 30–40 hours weekly; compensation $21/hour.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Specimen collection and lab duties (90%).
• Collect urine and DNA swab samples at various sites with VMW partners.
• Handle and transfer specimens between containers.
• Verify patient identity and obtain demographics.
• Label creation and data entry into LIMS/EMR.
• Complete lab requisitions and transport specimens to lab.
• Support efficient patient flow and lab operations with the team.
• Assist with kit building and workspace upkeep.
• Occasional travel to other locations and back-up support.
