Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health, part of the SAVES network in Asheville, NC, seeks a full-time Veterinary Technician Assistant Supervisor & Training Coordinator to mentor and grow the Specialty Services team. Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT, CVT, or LVT) required.
• 2+ years of experience in emergency, specialty, or critical care preferred.
• Leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with EzyVet and SmartFlow preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support onboarding programs for new Specialty Services Technicians and veterinary team members.
• Develop, organize, and deliver hands-on training to support Veterinary Technician skill advancement and clinical competency.
• Serve as a mentor and resource for Veterinary Technicians as they progress through training and development plans.
• Partner with hospital leadership to identify learning opportunities and create individualized development plans.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to promote professional growth and confidence.
• Assist with competency assessments, skill evaluations, and documentation of training progress.
• Ensure team members are trained on hospital protocols, workflows, equipment, and patient care standards.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
• Assist hospital leadership with daily department operations, workflow, and team support.
• Provide guidance and support to Veterinary Technicians specialty services cases.
• Help coordinate staffing needs, assignments, and workflow to support efficient patient care.
• Serve as a leadership resource by encouraging communication, accountability, and collaboration.
• Support implementation of medical protocols, workflow improvements, and departmental initiatives.
• Assist with team meetings and cross-department collaboration.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and veterinary nursing excellence.
